The stay at the HOTEL SCHANDL ***S should be as pleasant as possible, below we have compiled interesting facts from A to Z in short form – do not hesitate to contact us if you need additional information before arrival or during your stay or if you have any questions, wishes, suggestions or complaints.

Right in the center of the historic old town!
Arrival?
from 3 pm until 8 pm at the latest – unfortunately, an earlier arrival is not possible since it is very important for us to have enough time to thoroughly clean each guest room. Also, the reception desk is not covered between 1 and 3 pm!
Travel / by car, plane or public transportation?
Schandl by car in about 1 hour from Vienna and Bratislava, in about 2 hours from Graz and Linz. If you go by public transport, it will take you about 1.5 hours from Vienna as well as 1 hour from Vienna Airport. https://www.oebb.at/ . https://www.viennaairport.com/
Departure?
from 8 am until 11 am at the latest
Payment upon departure?
Cash, bank card / Maestro as well as credit cards VISA and MasterCard (occasionally a deposit is possible – unexceptionally in the main season!)

Roof windows top floor?
do not overtwist when opening since there could be water penetration when it rains – thank you!
Bath / hand towel?
Reuse? If you want to reuse your bath / hand towels, put them on the provided holders!
Would you like to get clean towels? Leave your bath / hand towels on the floor!
Reception desk?
covered every day from 8 am until 1 pm and from 3 pm until 8 pm (occasionally shorter time span, see reception area!)

Bicycle room?
Bicycles can be parked free of charge in the video-monitored bicycle room on the ground floor (unfortunately not the bicycle racks!) – since the spaces are limited, we ask you to inform us about the number of bicycles before arrival – thank you!

Breakfast?
Monday until Friday from 7.30 am until 9.30 am, Saturday, Sunday and holidays from 7.30 am until 10.30 am in the restaurant area or at the terrace directly at Rathausplatz (depending on season and weather!)

Gluten or lactose free?
please inform us one day before arrival at the latest – thank you!

Pets?
We will inform you that it is not possible to bring pets. Since our guests expect us to strictly comply with this rule, we cannot make any exceptions. Bringing a pet is not allowed – thank you for understanding!
Air conditioning?
The air conditioning is extremely powerful. Please switch it off when you leave the room and keep the windows closed!

Mineral water?
natural mineral water free of charge (still or sparkling) on the first floor in the cool box
Emergency?
in case of emergency you can contact us at the number printed at the reception desk!
Emergency call?
the numbers of the fire department, the police, the ambulance service and the doctor on call are printed at the phone in your room!
Fruit?
help yourself to some fruit from a regional farmer at the reception desk
Parking?
there are free of charge public parking spaces directly at Rathausplatz, Joseph Haydngasse as well as in close walking proximity at Seezeile (depending on availability!)
Cycle paths map / cycle experience at Lake Neusiedl?
available free of charge for guests at the reception desk.
Smoking ban?
smoking is strictly prohibited in the public hotel area and in the guest rooms – thank you for your compliance!
Key card?
Be sure to always take it with you when you leave the hotel and return it when you leave!
Opening the entrance doors: simply use the black wall readers (to the right of the Rathausplatz entrance, to the left of the entrance to the guest rooms on the second floor, upper floor and attic and to the right of the entrance to the bicycle room in Kirchengasse, only open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.!) stop, an acoustic signal follows, a green light instead of the red one and the entrance can be opened (Town Hall Square entrance automatically!)
Opening the guest room: simply stop at the black key rosette below the door handle with the inscription HÄFELE, followed by an acoustic signal, red and white light, the entrance door to the guest room can be opened
Closing the guest rooms: when leaving the guest room, just close the door handle, you don’t have to press it!
Taxi?
you can contact the local taxi company Taxi Scheck by phone via +43 (0) 664 5232828 or taxi.scheck.rust@gmx.at – they also offer transportation of up to 15 bicycles!
External phone calls?
if you would like someone to call you directly at your room, give them the phone number of the hotel and add the three digits of the extension number for your guest room – they are printed at the phone in your room right underneath the room name.
Internal phone calls?

Door / guest room?
when you leave your guest room, close the door tightly and briefly wait until you hear a locking sound – after that your guest room is closed
Video surveillance?
The video surveillance serves for safety and is of course based on the legal requirements!
Basin with drain set push-open?
press the plug down once – the basin may be filled with water; press the plug again – the water drains.

Wireless network?
available free of charge in the hotel area and the guest rooms of course, network and access code are provided in the leaflet „Helpful information for your stay!“ handed to you upon arrival.
Newspaper?
a selection of daily newspapers and magazines is provided in the restaurant area – national and international daily newspapers and magazines are available at the tobacconist´s right next door to the HOTEL SCHANDL ***S Tabak – Trafik Wolfgang Binder
Room safe?
there is a room safe installed in your closet, you will find the manual on the inside of the closet door.
